Joe Louis Perry transitioned from this earthly home to his heavenly home on January 11, 2023, at Universal Care Rehabilitation Center in Oxford, NC.

Joe, son of the late Ed Perry and Effie Southerland Perry was born April 7, 1948, in Vance County.

He graduated from Henderson Institute in 1967 and was a truck driver for Burkart Carolina for many years. He later drove for Pacific Coast Feathers. He worked at Waste Industries until his decline.

He was a member of Mitchell Missionary Baptist Church.

Joe was a fun, kindhearted person who loved helping others. He enjoyed watching cartoons, westerns, football, and spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters. He would always make sure that they had special treats when they came to visit. He will be deeply missed by all.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories, his loving wife, Jodie Cooke Perry of 54 years, his daughter Robin Perry Blanchard, granddaughters Tyra Chanel Blanchard (Pig Baby) and Erica Riley Blanchard (Boop Boop) of Durham, NC. A loving mother-in-law, Lola Cooke Burwell (Ma) of Henderson, NC. (7) sister in laws, Ida Sutton, Annie Cooke, Joyce Long, Nellie Cook, Maggie Cooke, Brenda Cooke, and Ada Terry all of Henderson, NC. (1) brother-in-law, Ernest Cooke of Georgia.

In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his sisters Virgie Perry and Zilphia Mae Perry. 

Viewing will be held on January 13, 2023 from 2:00PM to 6:00PM at Alight Feggins & Feggins Cremation & Mortuary Services located at 501 South Chestnut Street Henderson, NC 27536.      

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on January 14, 2023 at Mitchell Baptist Church located at 243 Lakeview Rd., Louisburg, NC 27549. Arrangements by Alight Feggins & Feggins Cremation & Mortuary Services.
