Johnny Bell Magbie transitioned from this earthly home to his heavenly home on October 24, 2022, at Maria Parham Medical Center with his daughter by his side.

Johnny, son of the late Walter Magbie and Florine Fuller Magbie was born February 20, 1945, in Vance County, North Carolina.

He attended the Kittrell Grade School located in Kittrell, NC and was employed by Goodyear Brothers Tire Service for years. He later worked at Pinecrest Rest Home in Henderson, NC as the Head Chef until his health declined.

He was a resolute member of the United Prayer of Faith Church until his health declined and sang with the group, The Gospel Disciples.

Johnnie was a kindhearted person and loved helping others. His hobbies were fishing, working on cars, and spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. He will be deeply missed by all, but especially his baby girl, “Little Bit.”  Additionally, every time he would have to go to the hospital, he would look forward to seeing his great niece Shanice Marrow, of Henderson, NC, bringing him chewing gum and teddy bears, and a special friend Nathaniel Taylor.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving daughter, Sonya Hall (Tyrone); sons, Johnnie S. Magbie, of the home, and Tony Crews of Durham, N.C.; sister Mary Hunter of Henderson, NC, brothers, Lacy (Georgia) Magbie of Kannapolis, NC; William H. Magbie (Barbara) of Henderson, NC, Melvin Magbie (Catherine) of Henderson, NC; Albert Thomas of Henderson, NC;  12 grandchildren, one great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Magbie; one son, Duncan Rogers; two grandsons, Johnnie Magbie, and Hakeem Jones; sisters, Mable, Sarah, and Jessie Mae; brothers, Walter, and James Magbie.
