Brian Russell

BRIAN RUSSELL was born to the late Louis Sanders and the late Ida Lou Russell on September 14, 1971, in Brooklyn, N.Y. He departed this life on January 30, 2022 at his home.

Brian better known as “Big B” grew up in Vance County and attend Vance County public schools. He proudly graduated from Southern Vance High School, first graduating class of 1991. After graduating Brian furthered his education at Kittrell Job Corp in Kittrell N.C. where he studied Brick Masonry.

Realizing that he needed Christ in his life, at early age, Brian joined Young Memorial United Holiness Church Henderson, N.C. where he remained a faithful member.

Brian remained in Henderson; N.C. on Warrenton Road where began his journey in life. Brian was employed at Roses Warehouse and Sear & Roebuck through the years, but most of all, he loved helping people in the community with odd jobs. He was known as a “Go Getter.”

Brian was well known and loved by the Warrenton Road “Shell” and the Greystone community. Brian loved his community and spent most of his life there.

Brian loved watching wrestling as well as his favorite, Sanford & Son. He loved laughing at Lamont, Fred, and Grady and he could recite his favorite episodes “word for word.”

Brian is proceeded in death by his mother Ida Lou Russell Cole and his father Louis Saunders. He leaves to cherish his precious memories, his sister Renee Russell Williams (Michael) of Henderson, NC. His nephews Azmar K. Williams of Boston Mass., Nazir Ali Williams of Henderson, NC, and one niece Azyah Williams of Henderson, NC. Also, a special Godmother Felcie Lewis and a host of other relatives and friends.
